magazine spread
For this project, I designed a magazine spread inspired by Marie Claire magazine. The magazine includes three popular trends from the spring/summer 2021 fashion shows, and includes four example pictures for each trend, all from different designers.

For the cover I knew I wanted to find an image that gave me plenty of breathing room for surrounding text, and knew this picture with the blank sky would be perfect. I included a "call out" about Jacquemus because the stunning cover photo I chose is from his runway show, and he is currently one of the most talked about designers. I also made sure to cover the three trends that are shown inside the magazine so readers would know what to expect.

Each inside page was inspired by a page from an existing Marie Claire magazine. I wanted them to all look different but still feel cohesive and like they belonged next to each other. I made the pages airy and kept the font minimal to make sure the pictures and trends were the main focus and really stood out.

The three trends I chose to showcase were crop tops, cut-outs, and pastel colors. Crop tops are a spring/summer staple that have been around for a few seasons now and I don't see them going anywhere for a while. The four designers for this trend are Jacquemus, Alberta Ferreti, Dior, and Isabel Marant. Cut-outs add a little bit of fun to your classic sundress. My favorite designers for this trend are Gabriella Hearst, Isabel Marant, Versace, and Acne. Pastel colors are of course the biggest trend for spring/summer, I mean who can resist them?! Isabel Marant, Boss, Fendi, and Alberta Ferreti definitely made me want to put the neutrals away and wear nothing but color this season!
